Se usa 'the most' + adjetivo para formar superlativos con adjetivos largos de dos o más sílabas, indicando el grado máximo de una cualidad.

Se utiliza con adjetivos de dos o más sílabas que no terminan en -y:
- popular → the most popular
- expensive → the most expensive
- difficult → the most difficult

Diferencias con el español
- Inglés: Siempre se usa ‘the most’ + adjetivo
- Español: Se usa ‘el/la/los/las más’ + adjetivo

Nota importante
Recuerda que con adjetivos cortos (1 sílaba) se usa -est (biggest, fastest), no ‘the most’.
