FORM: 'THERE IS/ARE' + A LOT OF
Se usa para expresar que existe una gran cantidad de algo en un lugar específico. 'There is' se usa con sustantivos incontables y 'there are' con sustantivos contables en plural, ambos seguidos de 'a lot of'.
Oraciones principales
(op). There's a lot of people there.
Hay mucha gente allí.

Diferencias importantes con el español
1. Concordancia flexible en inglés hablado: En inglés informal, es común usar ‘there’s’ incluso con sustantivos plurales:
- There’s a lot of people (informal)
- There are a lot of people (formal/correcto)
En español siempre usamos ‘hay’ sin cambios.
2. Traducción al español:
- ‘A lot of’ se traduce como ‘mucho/mucha/muchos/muchas’ según el género y número del sustantivo
- ‘There is/are’ siempre se traduce como ‘hay’
